Cheese & Birch Scones



300g Plain Flour

3tsp Baking Powder

200g Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese

1 egg

130ml Milk

20ml Vegetable Oil

3 tbsp Birch Syrup


1. Sift the flour and baking powder together in a large bowl.

2. Dice the cheese into small cubes and add to the flour, mix to combine.

3. Beat the egg and milk together in a separate bowl and add the oil and Birch syrup. Beat all together until combined.

4. Pour the liquid into the dry mixture and mix together until it forms a dough. If it's a little dry add a drop more milk.

5. Press the dough out onto a floured surface and roll out to 1cm thick.

6. Cut out the scones and place on a baking tray.

7. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes.
